The Problem

Interface design in today’s environment is far too concentrated on line by line efforts. It’s common place for designers to create individual components rather than rules and frameworks. The impact of this means the need to redesign your product each time an addition or change is made.

Our Solution

The objective of this phase is to establish a set of frameworks, rules and style guides. Your finalized frameworks and style guides will eliminate the need to initiate a new design phase every time an addition or improvement is made to your product. Our objective is to provide the UI and UX building blocks so that each phase of development has a firm set of design rules.

Our ui/ux Design Process

Design and Color Board Creation

The development and creation of your design and color board is meant to define the global design components of your system. These components include colors, fonts, graph styles, menu styles, and icon styles that will be used in your final product. Defining these rules at the beginning establishes the first pillar to your design framework.

Layout Framework / Template Creation

For your project we'll create a series of layout templates that will be used across your platform. Each framework comes with several variations to provide a series of use case scenarios across your platform. Each framework includes both UX and UI design components. When combined with the color and design board, you'll have a full set of rules and templates to use as you scale your platform.

Custom Design / Logo Development

The custom design components are intended to address all screens that aren't covered by your core frameworks. Typically, these include logos and marketing material needed to sell your product.

Front End Design Deliverables

Design/Color Board

Your color and style boards include color options, font styles, graph styles, button styles, menu styles, icon styles, and the design rules associated with all of them. This deliverable is intended to be your style roadmap for your entire platform.

Layout Frameworks

Your layout templates provide rules and guidelines for each screen type contained within your system. These frameworks include dashboard layouts, profile layouts, settings and user management layouts, and any informational/metric screens. Framework/laout types are based on your individual project.

Custom Design

In any development there are design components that won’t fall into a framework or template. For those designs, our team will address each of those components and handle them individually. These components include logo design, marketing material, and any specific screen that contributes to the overall success of your platform.

Additional Design Services

Persona Development

The objective of this service is to learn who your customers are. This process is done through our persona development process where we profile and dissect each user type you want to market to. This enables us to design around the priorities of your customers, not what we think looks good.

Survey Development

After we have a more detailed understanding of who your customers are, we begin a direct feedback loop. We’ll design a small survey to help generate and guide basic design rules. We want the customer telling us what colors they think look good, we want them to influence our initial design rules.

User Feedback

Similar to our other feedback loops, this loop relies on the direct input from your customers. We want them to give us their honest opinion and feedback on the most basic design components. We will ask them about fonts, colors, logos, and most global design components.

Measure and Execute

Measuring feedback and customer response is the goal of this entire loop. The feedback that we receive will directly impact the global design rules that will govern your system. We can repeat this feedback loop for each section of your product to achieve a design that truly resonates with users.

Customer Feedback Loop Deliverables

Persona Development

Through a series of interviews and research, our team works directly with you to put together a comprehensive list of end user types. These user types are general classifications that we can individually profile and learn from. At the conclusion of this step, you’ll have a comprehensive profile and breakdown of who your end users are.

Survey Development

With a concrete understanding of who your software’s end users are, we can begin to design a comprehensive survey to download user priorities and preferences. This is our chance to really understand your preference and adopt that moving forward.

User Feedback

Using the developed personas and surveys from the above 2 steps, we’ll target potential end users to collect individual data points that will be used to drive design. These surveys help our team construct a design strategy and create global design rules to influence the final deliverable.

Design Rules, Style and Color Board Creation

Your design rules are a list of user generated guidelines that your design team will abide by. They are meant to drive initial design when determining color, fonts, and global design elements. Creating templates and rules limit your long-term costs and provides a design framework for all software.
